Kaleva Days

July 14 - July 16

Founded by Finnish settlers, Kaleva is located in the center of Manistee County. It is known for its Bottle House Museum, a unique home built with 60,000 glass bottles by John Makinen, then owner of a pop bottling factory. Now owned and operated by the Kaleva Historical Society, the Bottle House Museum is listed on the National Historic Register. Another landmark in Kaleva is the RR Depot Museum which houses railroad artifacts and displays. In July, the Village of Kaleva sponsors a 3-day community festival which includes music, food, car and tractor show, games, parade, beer tent, poker run, crafts, 5K run/walk, bake sales and more.
