Trails in Manistee County

Marzinski Trailhead

Part of Manistee County’s Trail System

Enjoy a relaxing day meandering down quiet forest pathways on horseback. The Marzinski Horse Trail and Campground, Between Manistee and Wellston, was developed for the horse enthusiasts, who enjoy riding through a forested quiet trail system. 21 primitive campsites are available with hitching posts at many sites. There are 20 miles of maintained, marked horseback riding trails, which are available without fees. This is a looped trail, that is mostly flat, takes you through hardwood and pine forests.

Forest Service volunteers maintain the trails, which are marker by cedar-routed sign posts. They are open, but not maintained for winter riding
