Address:
Stronach Boat Launch, Stronach, USA
Description:

Whether you’re watching your rod lodged in a sand spike or simply wandering the shores, the Bar Lake beach offers a year-round opportunity to enjoy the serenity of a still, waveless morning or the windswept breakers of a Great Lakes storm.

Bar Lake, and its outflow, is a fish magnet in the spring and fall – one of the many reasons this is such a great place to cast a line. Anglers can most often expect to catch steelhead and brown trout from the beach near the Bar Lake Outlet. On rare occasion, yellow perch, coho salmon, and Chinook salmon can also be caught at this spot.

Successful shore anglers typically cast spawn bags that are tied with small round flotation beads into the deeper offshore bars. Anglers may use up the three of these rigs, typically placed in sand spikes. Light drags and patience are the rule for hooked salmon and trout.

Anglers may also cast small spoons in varying colors. Spoon casting can be especially productive in the spring when brown trout seek warming waters and the baitfish they attract.
