The Pure Michigan campaign is well exemplified in Manistee County which is full of beautiful sites and scenery. Off the beaten path and on the shores of Lake Michigan, it is a recreational paradise that more people discover each year. When they arrive, they find lots to do here including hunting, fishing, sailing, hiking, golf, shopping, and one more thing… gaming, at Little River Casino Resort.

Established in 1999 by the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians, Little River Casino Resort began at an adjacent location just across the parking lot from the current casino. With a limited number of slots and a small group of dedicated new employees, Little River opened its doors to enormous demand from folks all throughout Michigan and beyond. Right away it was clear that the original casino was not large enough to accommodate all the guests arriving daily, and so construction began on the current casino. After other renovations, the current casino was fully completed in 2007.

Little River is one of Michigan’s premiere entertainment destinations, offering over 1,500 of the best slot machines available. For those who prefer table games, they can play blackjack, roulette, craps, and many others. Every month, lots of great promotions offer guests a chance to win fantastic prizes. What most people who visit will find is the most warm and friendly staff of any casino they’ve ever visited. There are many employees who have been with Little River since the doors opened and they take great pride in their resort.

The resort features beautiful Native American artwork from local and nationally recognized artists. Guests can even purchase prints and other Native American crafts in our gift shop. The atmosphere throughout the resort is warm and relaxing. Right in the middle of the resort is the winter garden, complete with waterfalls and an indoor stream under a pyramid of glass that allows the area to be flooded with natural light.

Little River is the southernmost gateway of scenic M22 from which travelers can begin a journey up the coastline of the Leelanau peninsula. M22 runs past vineyards, small towns full of boutique shops, and America’s most beautiful place, as voted by Good Morning America, the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. But not only that, the sandy beaches of Lake Michigan are just minutes away, as is the splendor of the Manistee National Forest.

Little River continues to be the county’s largest employer and gives back generously to the community. Their mission is in their tagline as they strive to provide every guest that walks through the door the promise of BIG fun. Little River Casino Resort is a welcome part of Manistee County!
